Finding a shoe repair shop is simple but finding one you love - one that can make your old shoes feel brand new again - is more challenging. To find the right one for you, start with the team at Shane Barr Shoe Repairs - a local business that loves serving customers.
Shane BarrWith our skilled craftsmen you will always get shoe repairs you'll love.
I’m the proud owner of our shoe repair business – which is why my name is ‘above the door’. I was incredibly fortunate to have learnt the fine art of shoe repairs from the previous business owners and Dutch Immigrants, Mr & Mrs Mulder. They had a genuine love for their craft which they were generous to share with me. Marcel Mulder in particular spent time with me after I purchased the business in 2000. Marcel worked alongside me to ensure he passed on his expert knowledge. Marcel was a third generation Shoe Repairer, so I was trained by one of the best. Learning from Marcel, was like taking a sip from a fire hydrant. In my spare time, I like to kayak and read. I don’t play golf but I tend to talk a lot about diet and health... |

Pera TuapawaPera has been a customer of Shane Barr Shoe Repairs for years.
After bringing in yet another pair of shoes for a re-heel Pera got the idea of working for Shane instead, and cutting out the middle man! Having an appreciation for quality footwear, he is keen to help preserve the traditions of cobbling, and enjoys working with his hands to give shoes a new lease of life. Pera has an interest in history, and enjoys collecting menswear and other artifacts from the early 20th century. |
John RossJohn thoroughly enjoys working with his hands and constantly strives to find the most effective and efficient way to do a job.
Coming from a background in shoe repair, John believes one of the most rewarding and satisfying things of cobbling is finishing a shoe to a high standard and not being able to tell it has been repaired. Johns spare time gravitates around his Fiancé, his two young children and his pug Spud. Some of Johns interests include Rugby League, being a casual golfer, gaming and being a tropical fish enthusiast. |
