These boots were suffering from a couple of things. Firstly the original polyurethane foam sole had gone rotten. Secondly they had been resoled with an unfortunate choice of EVA soling that didn't have enough height in the heel . With a few hefty scuffs thrown in We removed the soles and sanded all the glue off the leather. Ran a nice edge, built up a better height and finished it of with a micro rubber sole that has a light tread pattern. Hi Shane, Well, I was truly amazed to open the very welcome box yesterday to see my boots again! They look so good and the soles are only different because of not being moulded as the original ones were. Sorry you didn't even get to see the original ones because the old man threw them out before he returned the badly-soled ones. No matter, they feel and look brand new again. Very many thanks, Shane, and I only wish we lived up your way to employ your services if and when we need them again. We are getting old, so with luck these will "see me out" as they say. I actually lived at Pyes Pa (schoolhouse) in the late 1960's, so can picture where you live out at Welcome Bay. In those days both areas were quite countrified though. Great climate although now your traffic leaves us behind a bit so we had better stay in a place the size of Wanganui. Enjoy your weekend and may your business flourish as I can see things are well organised. Best wishes, Patsy Trail In case anyone is confused ... Our shop is in Tauranga City. Welcome Bay is where we live.
